My
son is over there with you but I will pray for all of you. Watch each other's back, be
careful and come home together. If you read or see news about people in this country
thinking we should just pull out just remember that the SILENT majority, me included,
think what you are there for is right and you will get the job done. God bless the USA and
our troops. Pat

My name is Sharon and I am from Conn. I just wanted to take a moment to let you
and all of your Soldiers know how much I appreciate all that you are doing in Iraq to keep us safe. My heart goes out to each and
every one of you; you are all in my prayers everyday.
I belong to a Bible Study Group (The
Bible Babes) and we sent our first packages off to a group of Soldiers in Tikrit last
month and we want to start doing this on a regular basis. I have been spreading the word
about Any Soldier to everyone I come across because it is the least that we
can do for the men and women that are sacrificing for us. I am trying to get some school
children (classes) involved in writing to the soldiers because I think that they need to
be more aware and thankful of the job that you are all doing for them.
God Bless You All and Stay Safe,
Sharon |

whatever lies ahead..." Unknown Author.

Hi, I just came across your email on the
anysoldier site and wanted to thank all of you for the many sacrifices you all are making
for us back here in the states. You are in my thoughts and prayers daily for you and your
families at home.I found the anysoldier website in December and have been supporting it
since then. I have 31 now 32 counting you contacts that I either email, write letters, or
send packages to. This is one of the first things I do in the morning is to check on you
soldiers. Keep up the great work you are doing for us and the people of Iraq, I pray for
all of your safety and THANK YOU very much for what you do. A big supporter of you ALL,

Walking out on this spring morning, I think of
all of you, pray you stay safe. Cream and yellow daffodils bloom with blue hyacinths,
where I walk, so here is a word picture. Each and every one of you remains in our hearts,
every day.
Thank you all.All the Best,

THANK YOU SOLDIER
Have you stopped to thank a
veteran today?
For the price of freedom they had to pay?
Did you gaze into those distant eyes?
Did you see the ghosts he can't deny?
Did you think a soldier's heart was made of steel?
Because he was trained to kill, he couldn't feel?
Did you see the guilt written on his face,
For the loss of life he can't replace?
Did you know he mourns the lives he couldn't save,
And walks with comrades in their grave?
Did you remember the boy with innocence lost?
Do you really know war's ultimate cost?
Have you felt the blast of artillery fire?
Do you have the courage it would require?
Have you stood in trenches consumed with fear?
Felt the enemies breath so very near?
Have you walked with God on a battleground?
Seen your brothers dead or dying all around?
Have you stopped to thank a vet today,
Or did you just turn and walk away?
From the pain he'll carry for the rest of his life,
Did you consider his family, his children, his wife?
That watch him suffer in silence each and every day,
As he's haunted by memories that don't go away?
Did you care that the soldier is still pulling guard?
That his heart, mind, and soul will forever be scarred?
Do you know how he suffers from ptsd?
Or that our precious freedom is never free?
Did you care that he still hears the blood curdling screams?
Or that he returns to the war each night in his dreams?
Have you felt the sorrow of a combat vet?
Or would you rather just forget?
That war has pierced his hardened heart,
And torn this soldier all apart?
Would you rather our heroes just fade away?
Or will you stop to thank a vet today?

The misions of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
(VFW) and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) include serving our Active Duty, Reserves
and National Guard troops as well as our veterans. We remember the long family separations
and the joy we had when we were able to hear our loved ones voices during even the
shortest of phone calls. It was with this thought in mind that we were proud to be able to
allow our fellow comrades this same pleasure.
We will continue to support our deployed comrades through Virgil and the Family Readiness
Group. Tom, CDR, Marengo Memorial VFW Post 5377

We (our family and all our friends) deeply
appreciate what you and your loved ones are doing and enduring for our country and
citizens. I am sure that you do not hear this enough. I hope all goes well for
everyone and that your loved ones come home safe and soon. Jerry and Nancy |
