Why Wouldn't I Listen?
By Mint Shows
Sorrow, sorrow,
everywhere around me.
Drought and famine all at once.
Nowhere to go,
Nowhere to turn.
Left and right suffering and despair.
People try to escape,
But none have succeeded.
Everywhere I look,
Hunger and thirst.
I once had a chance,
But I wouldn't listen.
Now there's no hope for me.
Our numbers were big.
But we are defeated.
Our leader is fallen,
And is suffering like one of us.
There is no faith,
There is no hope,
There is no love,
But the opposites are present.
If I only hadn't thrown away my chance.
Why wouldn't I listen?
We killed their king,
That's what we were told,
But it was our worse mistake.
We defeated ourselves,
It was part of their plan.
Their leader came down,
And locked us up in this pit of fire.
Our only view was that of suffering
To our left and right,
And that of Heaven above our heads.
We all had a chance of
eternal happiness,
But we threw it away.
I could have avoided
This eternal fate,
Why wouldn't I listen?
Woe is me,
There is no hope
For damned people like us.
They warned us of this,
We spit in their face.
Why wouldn't' I listen?
I look to the sky,
And see things I could've never dreamed.
If I only had one more chance,
Oh God, I would listen.
