A Plea for Love
By: Mint Shows
Why won't you love me?
What else can I do?
I'm hanging on this cross,
With these nails in my hands,
Shedding the blood of innocence.
I've healed your sick, suffering, and lame.
And I am willing to give you eternal happiness.
And still you turn your back on me.
All that I ask is that you love me a fraction of my love for you.
Is this too much for the God that created you?
Is this too much to ask?
My life here is nearing end,
But I will be back to assert my final plea.
Just take this blood flowing from my veins,
And wash yourself white as snow.
Love is all I want of you, my brothers and sisters.
And once I have it,
You won't regret giving it.
